Welcome to my place in cyberspace.
I studied art, "peinture décorative" (mural painting) and "peinture de chevalet" (easel painting) at the "Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts et Institut Supérieur d'Architecture de Liège."
I moved to Canada in the early 70's and have since taught in numerous art schools in Canada and the US.
The idea to create this page came from the frustration I experience, on the Web, at the lack of material relevant to the issues that seem to make my life "worth living" (some of the time!).
The reasons behind that frustration are very similar to the reasons that finally made me leave academia.
Too much "training," not enough "education!" (There can/should be more to life than "a job!")
This site could be a difficult experience if you approach it with a "fast-food-gulping" mentality.
Everything in it is designed to require patience and curiosity (both qualities we possessed in infinite quantities when we were children).
There is a large number of "nooks and crannies" that I hope you will enjoy searching for and discovering.

The text appearance has been selected in order to create, if successful, a slowing down effect not unlike what can happen if you come across something you like and place everything else in the periphery of that experience. (I hope your ISP connection is not too expensive ;-).
The images are a big challenge. My graphics were all created using high resolution and millions of colours.
Making them "Web ready" was no small feat and only relatively successful.
These pages were originally made on a Mac (8500/G3)
The monitors are set at millions of colours, 1280 x 1024 res., D50 White Point and 1.48 Gamma.
The preferred font is Palatino.
I have no idea what this might look like when viewed from other platforms/browsers. (Good luck! ;-)
